Positive signs for economic and consumer recovery

Having published their 2013 full year results, Hammerson's, the major British retail development and investment company, reported 2.1% growth in like for like net rental income, strong demand for high quality retail property and 97.7% occupancy rates.

Their Chief Executive, David Atkins, said:

"We have reported a good set of results in a year when we saw the beginning of economic and consumer recovery in the UK."

The company recently compiled a survey of its suppliers and four construction contractors topped the report. Balfour Beatty, Graham Construction, mace and Morgan Sindall. The survey focused on corporate responsibility, health and safety, environmental policies, equal opportunities for employees, training and development and reflects the significance major companies are now placing on sustainability.
