Wayne Thomas

Managing Partner

About Wayne

Wayne’s really good at listening to his clients and working out how to help them. He’s particularly good at owner managed business – not only because he looks after lots of them, but because he owns and manages this one.

He’s also keenly interested in the Charities, not for profit and education sectors. He often tells us that he started out back in the day – as an audit clerk writing the working papers for Repton’s audit. From an initial interest in taking care of Independent Schools, Wayne spearheaded the firm’s academy service. Now servicing independent schools, specialist schools and academies, all our schools tell us how much they appreciate our involved, hands on approach.

What his clients think

” As an SME, Marketing Derby needs security and reassurance in all matters financial. We find the service provided by Bates Weston prompt, efficient, accurate and best of all, the friendly team speak human!”

John Forkin, Marketing Derby.

” Bates Weston (Wayne Thomas) was introduced to me over 10 years ago. I wondered how a start up like ours, based in Surrey, would manage particularly well with an accounting firm based in Derby. But they had come highly recommended. However, it is a decision I have never regretted. The whole Bates Weston team are excellent to deal with, timely in their responses and always supportive in dealing with new issues. I would certainly recommend them to anyone seeking advice and support in their Corporate affairs.”

Paul Tweedale, TenBroeke Company Limited.

“Wayne and his team continue to perform and deliver exactly what we require with a friendly and professional approach.”

Paul Collins, GNT UK Ltd.

“We are very happy with the service we get from Bates Weston. We moved to them from another firm because we felt that we were not getting a personal service and were not valued as a client. At Bates Weston we get the best of both worlds – a professional accountancy and audit service with a good knowledge of the Charity sector and also a personal approach where I can ring up and talk to someone if I have a query.

They always have time for us.  I would be very happy to recommend them to other organisations.”

Andrew Watkins, Crich Tramway Museum.
