The theme for the conference will be where the opportunities lie for agriculture and how they can be funded.
Speakers this year include DEFRA secretary Owen Paterson MP, Sir Jim Paice, former farming minister, Farmers Weekly Awards 2012 winner Guy Poskitt and European Commissioner Dacian Ciolos.
A major report to be published at the 65th annual Oxford conference, argues that despite facing many challenges, farmers must be prepared to adapt and innovate so they can seize the opportunities that do exist.
According to Johann Tasker, writing in Farmers Weekly, “The conference heralds a pivotal 12 months for farming. As well as being a transitional year before CAP reform is fully implemented in 2015, this autumn’s referendum on Scottish independence could result in the break-up of the UK – and further upheaval in agriculture.”
The Farmers weekly website will be reporting from the event. http://www.fwi.co.uk/events/ofc/
