If you are local to us, here in Derby, then you may be interested to know that Derby City Council suggests that they will open up applications for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant to eligible ratepaying businesses in those sectors from the beginning of next week.

Eligible businesses can apply for grants of up to £6000 depending on their rateable value. Closing date for applications will be 28 February.

Eligible recipients will receive the following:

  • Rateable Value between £0 and £15,000, £2,700
  • Rateable Value between £15,000 and £51,000, £4,000
  • Rateable Value in excess of £51,000, £6,000

If your business is not eligible for OHLG you may be able to apply for the Additional Restrictions Grant. The discretionary ARG scheme aims to support businesses severely impacted by coronavirus restrictions and the rise of Omicron, and the Government added a further £102million to the ARG fund on 30 December 2021. This third top up is only to be used for business support grants and particularly in support of businesses outside of the business rates system.

Applications for both grants are administered through Local Councils.
