We are a successful independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Derby and are actively looking for people to join our Accountancy Training Programme. We offer a proven tailored training programme, on the job training and fully paid study leave in one of the region’s most successful training practices.
If you join our programme as an undergraduate, your will begin our standard training programme during your 9-month placement, with the opportunity of returning to complete your training after the successful conclusion of your degree.
We are looking for curious people who enjoy the challenge and variety of helping business owners and who can communicate well with us and our clients. You will be good with numbers and IT, a multitasker, a flexible, collaborative team player with great attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
During your placement, alongside your training activities, you will work with colleagues, and as part of a team, to perform audit and accounts duties, producing organised and well documented working papers, whilst planning and timetabling your own area of work.
Your main duties will be:
- To prepare accounts for clients as required.
- Undertake bookkeeping for clients as required.
- To assist on audits and act as junior on an audit as required.
- To identify any technical issues promptly and bring them to the relevant Senior attention.
- As directed by the relevant Senior, research client queries, and suggest possible responses.
- Apply and show a sound working knowledge of accountancy theory from studies and training to practical work.
- To be familiar with and adhere to the company’s audit approach.
- To work with Excel, Sage, CaseWare, Invu and other company software.
