Ian Neal

About Ian

When asked how to describe Ian, people gave me lots of different ways to say the same thing.

“He’s always on the go”,” He moves at a 100miles an hour”, “Whirlwind”.

It’s safe to say that he is as driven to succeed as his clients are and that he never puts less than 100% effort into everything he does.

When put on the spot and forced to pick just one moment he’s proud of, Ian points to acting as Finance Director for Microlex, being actively involved in its growth, development and ultimate sale to an FTSE 100 PLC. He saw professional services from the client viewpoint and it gave him a taste for in depth involvement with clients, spotting issues and opportunities and driving growth.

If growth is your priority and you want commercial acumen on your team, talk to Ian. He covers all aspects of business planning and strategy, including development, growth and succession planning and has a particular interest in tax planning.

What his clients think

“Ever since my experience on the board at Eidos plc and my ‘Lara Croft’ days, the quality of advice and support I have received from Ian (Neal) and the team at Bates Weston are equal to anything provided by the national and multi-national accountancy firms.”

Jeremy Heath-Smith.

“We undertook an exercise last year to find an accountancy practice that could not only offer us traditional audit and taxation services but also wider business and taxation advice, working with us as managers and shareholders on all facets of our business and tax planning. Important for us was to find a practice that could both offer this fully rounded service but also be a good fit with our business size being able to draw on experts within the practice when needed; but also enabling us to build a long term and solid relationship at Partner level. Bates Weston have provided an excellent service to date in terms of a smooth audit, day to day taxation and pensions services right through to our longer term tax planning; and we are well on with establishing the long term business relationship that we were looking for.”

John Blackwell, Hima-Sella Ltd.
